China's international railway transport can be roughly divided into two kinds, one is international railway combined transport, the second is the railway transport to Hong Kong and Macao.

A. International rail transport

In international rail transport, the consignor consigns the goods from the station of origin, using a railway waybill, which is then used by the railway to deliver the goods to the consignee at the terminal. No consignee or consignor is required to participate in the transfer of goods from one railway to another. The Eurasian countries undertake the obligation of international combined railway transport in accordance with international treaties.

B. Rail transport to Hong Kong and Macao

The railway transport of Hong Kong and Macao area is handled according to domestic transport, but it is different from general domestic transport. The goods will be loaded from mainland to Shenzhen for transshipment and unloaded in Hong Kong for delivery. With the opening of the Beijing-Kowloon Railway and shanghai-Hong Kong Direct railway, transport from the mainland to Hong Kong will be faster as the HKSAR is a free port. Goods to be released between the mainland and Hong Kong need to go through import and export declaration procedures.
